Mariah the Scientist is back on the road following the release of her third studio album “To Be Eaten Alive”. The show opened with Chxrry22, a young R&B songstress from Toronto, followed by a well-mixed set by the DJ to soothe the anxious crowd until Mariah arrived. While fans were rightfully losing patience, all it took was Mariah's soft vocals and mesmerizing smile to dismiss the wait from memory.

Mariah gracefully entered center stage and serenaded the fans to her latest hit, the reflective ballad “Good Times” and then onto the more upbeat “Bout Mine”. Although Mariah has the vocal range, she seems to enjoy living in the space of delivering melodic intoxicating runs which mirrors the content of her songs. There’s an intricate balance of tenderness and assertiveness as she fluctuates between desiring external love and realizing that love ultimately comes from within.

Records like, “40 Days n 40 Nights”, “77 Degrees”, and “Aura” epitomize the conflict of love so many young adults face at this stage of their lives. And that’s exactly what Mariah’s draw is the fly older sister who’s come home with a bunch of stories about the real world. She’s a woman who is confident in herself, her image, and ability to make relatable music for her core fanbase.
